De Agony of De Feet

As much as I hate to sound as if I am complaining, I WAS sound asleep about 3 a.m this morning, when this flashy light goes off in my face not only waking me up but also disturbing my sweet kitty dreams.

Slowly, I realize the room is still dark and that everyone around me is sleeping (except for the human with the flashy light box)

I recognize Charlie's butt next to my face, but can't place this weight on my own backside.

Charlie wakes up, takes one look and, I swear, she starts snickering at me before jumping down.

I turn and look and, lo and behold, there does seem to be a naked human foot resting fully on my backside belonging to a human who never woke up during the entire process.
In the grand "night" hierarchy of the Oligarchy, Charlie and I are "2nd shift" bed sleepers. We take over the "foot of the bed" after our Woofie jumps down to sleep elsewhere. (Alberta generally chooses not to join the crowd, but sometimes cries loud enough to wake everyone up so one of the humans will go find her in the living room so the other humans in the house can sleep. Sky is an "all night front and center with his own pillow" bed sleeper.)

Our humans have been so distracted for the past two months that at least if they're sleeping, we get to spend some good quiet time with them. The foot on top of me is a new one though.

Should I feel insulted?

Charlie says she would have bitten it.

I think I would've bitten it, too. Cats are not pillows or footrests or any other sleep aid thing, and anyone who says different is itching for a bite. Is what I say.

Charlie is absolutely correct in this. I know I have bitten every foot that dares touch me during the night. Since I sleep on Mom's side of the bed, I have her well trained to not touch my space.

I sleep on my dad's pillow. I need it more than he doesn, right? Sometimes I also like to sleep with my head on my mum's shoulder all snuggled up. Then I make sure I have my tail in my dad's face.

I hope this isn't going to be a blackmail picture.

What lack of respect the one of these humans! To conquer the bed!

I think as long as it didn't get its "feet stank" on you, you are okay.

Perhaps your human didn't wake up because they are so used to paparazzi attention! The flash bulbs are par for the course when you're a celebrity.

I should know.

Well maybe your exquisite softness was comforting for the human. In that case it wouldn't be cool to bite the foot.

Well, I just don't think I could sleep with a foot on me! You should definitely put the bite on it.

Seems to us like a good bite was pretty justified . . . but ya gotta go with your gut.

You asked how our humans give Meep his lion cut - they don't! They're such whimps they take Meep to the "beauty palor" for a bath and haircut. But they are able to brush Meep's tooth, so I guess they aren't total whimps!

My Meowma tries to put her naked feet on me all the time. She tries to make it look like she is petting me, but I know she just wants to feel my soft fur. I haven't bitten her yet, but I may have to.

The person with the foot on you was probably dreaming what a very soft place to lay the foot. Just like Scooby, Shaggy and Scout said. I think it was kind of a bizarre time for the flashy thing though. It's enough when Mom has that thing going during the day.
